One of the greatest gifts Muslim parents can give their children is a deep love and connection with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He is the best role model for every aspect of life, and instilling love for him in young hearts helps shape their character, manners, and faith.

Teaching Through Stories

Children love stories, and the Seerah (life of the Prophet) is filled with amazing events that inspire kindness, patience, and devotion to Allah. Share stories about his honesty, mercy, and love for children in a way that captivates their imagination.

For example, Tell them how the Prophet (PBUH) played with children, greeted them warmly, and showed them compassion.

Practicing His Sunnah at Home

Encourage children to follow simple Sunnah, such as smiling, saying "Bismillah" before eating, and helping others. When they see these actions in daily life, they will naturally adopt them.

Sending Salawat (Blessings) Upon Him

Teach children to say "Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam" whenever they hear the Prophet’s name. Make it a habit to recite Durood (Salutations) together as a family, especially on Fridays.

“Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace” (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:56)

Visiting the Prophet’s Mosque (If Possible)

If given the chance, take children to Madinah, the city of the Prophet (PBUH). Show them the beauty of Masjid An-Nabawi and tell them about the special love the Prophet had for his Ummah.

Being an Example of His Character

Children learn best by observing their parents. If they see kindness, honesty, and patience in your actions, they will associate these qualities with the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH).

Conclusion

Loving Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is an essential part of Iman (faith). By teaching his stories, practicing his Sunnah, using Nasheeds, and making him a role model in daily life, we can help our children develop a deep love and connection with him. Let’s make our homes full of his light and teachings!
